David muscled Ellis out of the Wankhede and that was a 114-metre six! What a humdinger of a contest this has been but that full toss certainly disappeared into the night sky! Ellis does well to pull things back and Mumbai now needs 16 runs in 6 balls.

Tim David welcomed Arshdeep Singh into the attack with a monstrous six over the deep square leg boundary and what a game this game has been with sixes raining from both sides. But Arshdeep tilted the game by dismissing Surya with Mumbai needing 33 off 15 balls at that point of the game. SKY departed for a brilliant 57 off just 26 balls and that was an outstanding innings from one of the best T20 batsmen in the world. Mumbai needs 31 runs in 12 balls.

Surya hits a brilliant 50 off 23 balls and this match is far from over. SKY with his pyrotechnics has kept the Mumbai crowd on their feet and most importantly has found his form back. SKY has got his eyes and he holds the key in this tense run chase. as he hits a huge six by skipping down the track and that’s absolute carnage.

This is a brilliant batting exhibition from Green as the full toss from Ellis disappeared over long-on and then the batsman targeted the long-off region to fetch a boundary. However, the bowler had the last laugh and ended Green’s stay at the wicket as he miscued a slower one and skipper Curran took an excellent catch under pressure. Green hammered a brilliant 67 off just 43 balls with six boundaries and three sixes blasting at 155.81.

Surya cuts Chahar through the empty slip cordon for a boundary to start the over and then Green smoked Chahar for a maximum to bring up a brilliant ha;f-century that has come under pressure, chasing a tall total. He skipped down the track and hit the bowler over the long-on and then slapped the spinner for a boundary to keep Mumbai in the hunt.

Only SKY can play those shots! Stay deep in his crease and judged the length well to dispatch Curran over the short third man for a boundary. Punjab had a chance to pack off Green but Rahul Chahar missed a direct hit! Surya completed the over with a brilliant free flow as the ball sailed over long-off for a maximum.

Surya is in his zone and this is terrific batting as Ellis drops it shot and SKY guided it stylishly over the boundary for a maximum to keep Mumbai in hunt. This might just be his night to get back into form.

Suryakumar is in some touch as he smacks Livingstone for three boundaries, two successive ones, targetting the short fine-leg region. A single off the last ball and Surya retains strike. He will hold the key if Mumbai needs to gun down this total.

Suryakumar gets going as he sweeps Chahar behind the square for a boundary. Excellent from Chahar as he pulls back things and doesn’t allow Surya to dominate him further.

Livingstone into the attack and the spinner removes Rohit as the Mumbai skipper offered a simple catch to the bowler and he makes no mistake. Rohit falls for 44 off 27 balls and that’s a huge wicket. Suryakumar Yadav is off the mark with a neat single to long on.

Rohit in full flow and he has hit 250 sixes in IPL, the only Indian to achieve the feat by skipping down the track and exhibiting a full flow of the bat as the ball sails over the boundary. Top shot and it’s just a delight to watch Rohit on song. The Mumbai skipper ended the over with a lovely paddle and the partnership is 71 from 48 balls.

Green wanted to target Brar and the ball spun and just missed the stumps but that didn’t stop the batsman from hammering the spinner through the covers and he did manage to get a boundary in the over. Mumbai needs 149 runs from 72 balls.

Rahul Chahar bowls an excellent over as he gives just five runs and didn’t allow either Rohit or Green to score a boundary. Punjab building the pressure with spin.

Green his showing his big-hitting credentials as he absolutely drilled Nathan Ellis to the long-on boundary with the bowler on the ground. The fifty for Mumbai has come up inside the PowerPlay and the white ball is flying all around the park. The partnership is worth 46 off 29 balls and 47 runs have been scored in the last five overs.

Sam Curran into the attack and after having played his part with the bat, the skipper steams in with the ball. The pull shot and Rohit go hand in hand and it’s bread and butter for the Mumbai skipper who smokes his counterpart into the deep mid-wicket boundary. Green then exhibited a brilliant cover drive as Mumbai motors on in chase of 215.

A run-out chance went begging as Green was gone had the ball hit the stumps at the non-striker’s end. Arshdeep is bowling well in control but Green went for a wild swing and the ball flew through the slips for a boundary. Rohit then played a brilliant shot with a brilliant lap over the fine-leg region to give Mumbai momentum.

The sixes keep flying at the Wankhede Stadium as Green welcomed Harpreet Brar into the attack with a sold shot over the long-on for a maximum. Chasing 215 runs Mumbai needs a good PowerPlay to keep its hopes alive.

Arshdeep Singh strikes in his very first over as he gets the prized scalp of Ishan Kishan with Short taking an excellent catch by running towards his left. Ishan went through the shot by playing uppishly but couldn’t beat the cover-point fielder. Rohit meanwhile used the pace to gently guide the length delivery to the third man boundary.

Matthew Short substitutes Prabhsimran and starts with the right-arm spin. Rohit is off the mark with a single to long-on with Ishan skipping down the track and off the blocks with a single to mid-on. Punjab took a review in an attempt to dismiss Rohit, who was strangled down the leg and was called wide but the ball just flicked the trouser and the wide decision was reversed. The Mumbai skipper then showed his class by flicking the spinner to the mid-wicket boundary.

Jitesh Sharma does his part with a brilliant 25-run cameo off just seven deliveries as Punjab recovered from a hopeless situation to post a daunting 214 for the loss of eight wickets. The last five overs produced 96 runs as the visitors recovered from 83/4 with Curran and Harpreet taking the Mumbai bowlers on a leather hunt. That was some smashing with the Punjab skipper hitting a fine half-century to lead the recovery and stun Mumbai with his assault. Back for the chase in a bit.

Sam Curran smashed a brilliant half-century but Jofra Archer denied the batsman from carrying his bat through as the bowler took a caught and bowled by digging it short. A 55-run cameo from just 29 balls with five boundaries and four sixes, striking at 189.65. Brilliant from the skipper.

This is stunning batting from Curran and the Punjab batsmen have dealt only in sixes. Curran smacks Green for two consecutive sixes - one over deep extra cover and then went downtown before Green castled Harpreet who fell for a brilliant 41 off 28 balls. Jitesh Sharma walked in and joined the party by hammering Green over long-off and then took the same route to eke out 25 runs. This is a brilliant blazing show from Punjab.

Sam Curran gets an outside edge of a fast and furious Archer delivery but that’s not a No Ball. Harpreet then deposited Archer behind the square for a six and this a brilliant from the duo. The partnership is worth 85 and that’s massive in the context of the game.

What a shot from Sam Curran! Arjun offered just a bit of width and Curran smacks him straight into the long-off stands for a maximum and then an edge fetched Curran another boundary. Harpreet then smashed a boundary as the 51-run partnership is up between the duo in just 38 balls. Harpreet attacked Arjun by dispatching a low full toss for a six to the deep square leg boundary. Arjun then bowled a no ball, that went to the third man boundary and the free hit disappeared for a boundary as Harpreet connected a wide delivery to the fine leg boundary. 31 runs from the over and this is going to hurt Mumbai.

Sam Curran has decided to attack and the Punjab skipper hammered a short one from Shokeen for a maximum over the deep mid-wicket and Rohit Sharma isn’t happy as the bowler has failed to stick to the field and has offered a freebie in his overs. Punjab on the attack!

The 100 is up for Punjab and Sam Curran, the skipper dispatches Green to the long-on boundary to up the ante but Punjab needs more of those. Mumbai will look to pick wickets and not let the advantage slip away.

Harpreet Singh finally finds a boundary much to Punjab’s respite as he drives Shokeen through the deep backward point region and that’s an important boundary for Punjab. The current run-rate is just 7.46 rpo and Punjab needs to up the ante.

Cameron Green into the attack and he rolls out a brilliant over giving just a single in his second over. Absolutely providing no room to the batsmen and Mumbai running through the overs by keeping a lid on Punjab.

Hrithik Shokeen starts in a decent fashion by giving five runs in his over with Harpreet Singh and Sam Curran in the middle. They both have a job in their hands as Mumbai has snatched away the initial momentum that Atharva provided to Punjab.

Piyush Chawla has dented Punjab with a double blow as he first removed Livingstone and then Taide became his second victim as Mumbai hits back after PowerPlay. Livingstone was deceived by Chawla with a quick delivery and Ishan Kishan did well to collect the ball and just flick the bail. Atharva then went on his knee to pull but missed the ball as the ball hit the batsman’s pad and rolled on to hit the stumps. Mumbai in control.

Livingstone has pulled the bones out an Archer short delivery and the batsman deposited the fast bowler over the deep backward square leg and that was a 101-metre six. It was some shot! Atharva is not afraid to take on the Englishman as he pulls for a single to the deep mid-wicket.

Piyush Chawla brings in all his experience and bowls a brilliant over by giving just a single. What a comeback from the veteran.

Arjun Tendulkar provides the breakthrough as he traps Prabhsimran with a brilliant yorker and the umpire had no hesitation in raising his finger. The batsman failed to bring his bat down in time and the ball-tracking showed it was crashing the stumps. Important breakthrough for Mumbai.

Wonderful batting from Atharva as he hits Piyush Chawla for two boundaries - first by going over extra cover and then employing the sweep through the backward square to help Punjab finish on a high in the PowerPlay. Mumbai picked an early wicket but leaked runs and will be looking to pull things back.

Atharva Taide played a brilliant ramp shot off Jofra Archer and it’s the pace that has helped the ball clear the third man boundary for a maximum. Expensive start from Archer as he gives 10 from his first over.

Prabhsimran has tonked Behrendorff for a couple of brilliant sixes with the first one flying over the backward square leg and then made room by moving aside, crouching and smashing the bowler way behind the square region. Top shots.

The change in bowling has worked for Mumbai as Cameron Green strikes to remove Short. A short delivery and Short pulled it straight to Chawla at midwicket. Early breakthrough for Mumbai and Punjab on the backfoot.

Short gets his first boundary courtesy of a hard slash off Behrendorff as the ball goes to the fine leg fence and Punjab is up and running after being asked to bat.

Arjun Tendulkar gets some swing and movement straight away and starts the first over well. Both Prabhsimran and Short are off the mark as five runs come from the first over.

Matthew Short along with Prabhsimran Singh will open the batting for Punjab and it will be Arjun Tendulkar who will open the bowling for Mumbai. Here we go!
