Rising Pune Supergiants CEO Raghu Iyer on Tuesday met the Visakhapatam Municipal Commissioner, District Collector and other department heads along with Andhra Cricket Association officials for the smooth conduct of matches involving his franchisee in the month of May.

Visakhapatnam, a favourite city of the team’s captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, will be hosting three matches featuring Delhi Daredevils, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab on May 10, 17 and 21. The first two games will be played in the day and final one will be a night affair.

“Vizag officials promised full support for the successful conduct of the matches,” said an ACA official.

However, there is uncertainty about the match between Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Supergiants scheduled on May 1 at Pune. “As May 1 is Maharashtra Day many want to see a match between two Maharashtra teams at Pune’s Maharashtra Cricket Association's International Stadium and all are waiting for the court verdict as the issue is pending with Mumbai High Court,” said the ACA official.

Iyer went around the stadium and took stock of things. Issues such as sale of tickets were discussed and ACA official made some suggestions. According sources, the CEO was advised to sell the tickets in e-seva centres as the locals were used to buying tickets from the counters rather than online.
