The pink-ball Test against New Zealand in Adelaide in November last year proved successful despite lasting just three days.

South Africa is yet to play a five-day match in the conditions ahead of its tour of Australia later this year and that has put the game in jeopardy. "Our players are not in favour of playing the game under those conditions," South African Cricketers' Association chief Tony Irish told News Corp Australia.

Australia claimed a three-wicket win over New Zealand in last year's day-night Test and neither team managed to score more than 224, but the greater balance between bat and ball was praised afterwards.
