Simarjeet Singh's six-wicket haul put Mumbai on the back foot on the opening day of the Col. C.K. Nayudu Trophy (Under-23) inter-state cricket tournament final against Delhi at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy.
Simarjeet's remarkable effort with the older ball meant Mumbai collapsed from 119 for no loss to be bowled out for 230. Anuj Rawat and Hiten Dalal's quickfire 127-run opening partnership helped Delhi race to 140 for one in reply at stumps.
Brief scores: Mumbai U-23: 230 in 58 overs (Jay Bista 66, Hardik Tamore 53; Simarjeet Singh six for 73, Shivank Vashisth two for 46) vs Delhi U-23: 140-1 in 24 overs (Anuj Rawat 68 not out, Hiten Dalal 67)
