Bangladesh batsman Tamim Iqbal has been ruled out of the Asia Cup with a fractured wrist. He picked up the injury in the first match of the tournament against Sri Lanka on Saturday.
According to reports, the Bangladesh batsman has been ruled out for at least six weeks. The incident happened on the final ball of the second over when Suranga Lakmal bowled a short ball to Iqbal on leg stump and the Bangladesh player failed to pull it off. It hit his left wrist.
In pain, Tamim walked back to the pavilion. Bangladesh was struggling at 3-2 then then with Lasith Malinga scalping the wickets of Liton Das and Shakib Al Hasan in the first over.
