Kerala Blasters FC has signed Senegalese defensive midfielder Ouzin Ndoye for this season’s Indian Super League, the Kochi-based club announced on Tuesday. It also confirmed that English striker Michael Chopra, who played in Kochi in the first edition, will be back this season.
The 24-year-old Ouzin Ndoye, who plays at both defensive midfield and centre-back positions, started his career in Belgium in 2013 before moving to Kazakhstan in 2015. He has made 74 appearances in his club career and has scored six goals.
Blasters’s head coach Steve Coppell said Nyode would be a good addition to his side. Meanwhile Chopra, according to the club, is already in India and currently training in Pune. The team will open its pre-season training on August 25 but the venue has not been announced yet.
