Holger Badstuber has slammed Pep Guardiola for neglecting him during his spell in charge of Bayern Munich.
Guardiola left the Allianz Arena at the end of last season in order to take up the head coach role at Manchester City, ending a three-year stay in the Bundesliga.
Badstuber was not overly disappointed to see the Catalan leave, criticising his man management skills and claiming new coach Carlo Ancelotti's approach works better.
"Our current coach likes to exchange opinions with the players, and so the conversation goes back and forth," he told Sky Deutschland.
"That's good too. With Pep, it was different. I would have to approach him because if I want to have a discussion then I will go looking for it.
"Of course it gives you a good feeling when the coach shows an interest. It was a bit different with our previous coach."
The 27-year-old spent much of Guardiola's three years at Bayern in the treatment room with various injuries, Badstuber insists he never thought about retiring.
"There are some really c**p phases in life, but I accept that," Badstuber said.
"I never thought about [retiring] because I know what I get out of football."
