Debutant Bengaluru has been in fine form and became the first team to qualify for ISL semifinals this season by ending up as table-topper, with 40 points from 18 matches.

Apart from its superlative show in the ISL, Bengaluru has qualified for the AFC Cup group stage by defeating Transport United 3-0 and Maldives’ TC Sports Club 8-2 on aggregate.

Much of the credit will go to head coach Albert Roca, who has fielded all his players in both competitions, that has given them exposure to quality football, both at international and domestic levels. The postponement of the match also will give Aizawl FC time to focus on its Super Cup matches.
