The I-League contest between Real Kashmir FC and East Bengal, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed due to thick snow cover at the TRC Ground in Srinagar, the venue.

An All India Football Federation (AIFF) team visited the ground in the morning on Friday and concluded that the match could not be held there. The stands were covered with a thick layer of snow and it would take time for the Jammu & Kashmir administration to clear it, according to an official.

The region has seen heavy snowfall in the last few days.

On Wednesday, however, a contest had been held at the ground in difficult conditions. Players from Gokulam FC and the home team — Real Kashmir — played amid snow and rain.
