Jamshedpur FC roped in Cameroonian central defender Andre Bikey as its fifth international signing for 2017-18 ISL season. Bikey, who previously played with North East United FC and FC Pune City in two earlier seasons of ISL, was drafted in by the Tata Group franchise which is making its debut this season.

Going with its recruitment philosophy of trying out names with previous ISL experience, Bikey was a natural choice for Jamshedpur FC which has the former Kerala Blasters manager Steve Coppell as its head-coach.

Bikey played under Coppell in 2007 when the latter was coaching then Premier League side Reading FC. Having drafted in Spanish defender Tiri, midfielders Sameehg Doutie (South Africa), Emerson Gomes De Moura (Brazil) and Haitian striker Kervens Belfort, Jamshedpur FC picked up Bikey for his performance with NEUFC in 2015, when the Guwahati based side almost made it to the semifinals.

The Jamshedpur outfit will be travelling to Bangkok and Changla in Thailand for its pre-season training in the month of October. On its return in November, the squad will be practising at the home facility of Tata Football Academy, it was informed.
