Justin Thomas got off to a quick start on Saturday, stalled, then got it going again with an eagle on the par-four 14th as he finished at 18 under after another six-under 67.

Justin Thomas separated himself from the pack in the third round of the SBS Tournament of Champions, taking a two-shot lead on Saturday.

Thomas, 23, disappointed a bit last year before re-claiming his title at the CIMB Classic in October.

The American got off to a quick start on Saturday, stalled, then got it going again with an eagle on the par-four 14th as he finished at 18 under after another six-under 67.

Hideki Matsuyama is his closest challenger after yet another great round, sitting two shots back.

The 23-year-old has won four of his last five starts, and he has a great chance to add to that total this week.

Jimmy Walker lost in a play-off at the tournament in 2015, and has had a lot of success in Hawaii's other tournament, the Sony Open.

The American is one of three players tie for third at 14 under, alongside William McGirt (66) and Ryan Moore (71).

Steady as ever, Moore calmly remained in contention even though he did not have his best day.

Brendan Steele (67) is a shot further back, while Patrick Reed (72) sits at 12 under.

A group of five players are tied for eighth, with Dustin Johnson (69) among them.

World number one Jason Day (70) sits at 10 under, while defending champion Jordan Spieth (70) is also out of contention a further two shots back.
