And the season-opener gets off to a frantic start! McLaren's Fernando Alonso takes the corner after being shoved to the extreme left by the other drivers.

Alonso's crash with Haas' Esteban Gutierrez was horrific. The Spaniard escaped unhurt but not his McLaren, which is a pile of mangled metal.
Following the crash, the race was red-flagged, which temporarily stopped the race and brought out the safety car.
Carlos Sainz of Spain in action in his Scuderia Toro Rosso. He helped himself to a top-10 finish, crossing the chequered flag in ninth, ahead of teammate Max Verstappen.
