Tejaswini Sawant pipped Anjum Moudgil by 0.3 points for the top spot in women’s rifle 3-position event in the sixth National shooting selection trials at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, on Sunday.
World Cup silver medallist Lajja Gauswami came third ahead of Gaayathri Nithyanandam who had won the earlier trial.
Vedangi Virag Tulzapurkar, KC Hema, Namrata Arora and Sonika were the others to make the final.
Shooting: Saurabh Chaudhary tops national trials
In men’s 25-metre rapid fire pistol, Olympic silver medallist Vijay Kumar won the sixth trial, after the young Anish Bhanwala had asserted his calibre yet again in the fifth trial.
In women’s air pistol, order was restored as World junior champion Yashaswini Deswal prevailed in the sixth, after Manu Bhaker and Devanshi Rana had hogged the attention in the fifth trial. Yasha Singh and Harshada Nithave reached the second and third spots ahead of Anisa Sayyed, Manu Bhaker, Shri Nivetha, Rhythm Sangwan and Malaika Goel.
With the cut off at 380, Olympian Annu Raj Singh and Devanshi Rana, missed the final by two points, among others.
