Padma Awards 2019: Bajrang Punia, Sharath Kamal among awardees

Ace Indian paddler Sharath Kamal, Indian football captain Sunil Chhetri, celebrated wrestler Bajrang Punia and chess player Harika Dronavalli were with the prestigious Padma Shri Award.

Sharath Kamal receives the Padma Shri award from President Ram Nath Kovind after a rewarding 2018 that saw the paddler win medals of all three colours in different events at the 2018 Commonwealth Games and two bronze medals at the Asian Games. A record ninth national title added further gloss to his glittering 2018.
