The Arise Group-Tamil Nadu Sports Journalists’ Association (TNSJA) awards night will be held on Sunday. Apart from the main category — Sportsperson of the year award — this year, three outstanding sportspersons have also been chosen for their excellence.
Athlete S. Arokiya Rajiv, India basketball star P. Anitha, and chess champion K. Jennitha Anto are among those who will be awarded at the function. “The awards are a great recognition to sportspersons, making their career journey even more enjoyable. I feel they are a big boost, particularly to the youngsters,” said V. Baskaran, India’s hockey captain during the team's golden campaign in Moscow 1980 and a TNSJA Lifetime Achievement award winner last edition.
Four illustrious sportsmen/journalists will also be inducted into the Hall of Fame during this edition.
