Snooker Nationals: Pushpinder carves the first century break

Railways' Pushpinder Singh carved the first century break in the main draw of the snooker competition at the 84th Manisha National Billiards & Snooker Competition at the PYC Gymkhana here on Saturday.

Railways' Pushpinder Singh carved the first century break in the main draw of the snooker competition at the 84th Manisha National Billiards & Snooker Competition at the PYC Gymkhana here on Saturday. In a Group 'M' league match, Pushpinder rallied from a from a 0-2 deficit and got the better of Maharashtra’s Chirag Ramkrishanan with a break of 105 in the fifth frame. The match scores were 36-70, 22-69, 86-8, 58-18, 105(105) - 3. In another league match, Madhya Pradesh’s Anurag Giri beat Maharashtra’s Ishpreet Singh Chadha 3-2.

Last year’s runner-up and top seed Manan Chandra trailed 1-2 before pulling off a 3-2 win against Karnataka’s Sean Davis in a Group 'A' league match. In the same group, Telengana’s Ashutosh Rao also recorded his second straight win.
