JSW Squash: Egyptian duo in final

The men’s CCI JSW International Squash circuit tournament has become an all-Egypt affair following the progress of the top two seeds Fares Dessouky and Mohammed Abouelghar into Sunday’s final.

The men’s CCI JSW International Squash circuit tournament has become an all-Egypt affair following the progress of the top two seeds Fares Dessouky and Mohammed Abouelghar into Sunday’s final.

In the semifinals on Saturday at the Cricket Club of India, top-seeded Dessouky tamed third seed Chris Simpson of England 3-0 while Abouelghar outclassed fifth seed Nicolas Mueller of Switzerland by an identical scoreline.

Indian challenge in the tournament had ended on Friday with the defeat of main hope Saurav Ghosal against Mueller in the quarterfinals.

Results (semifinals):

(1) Fares Dessouky (EGY) beat (3) Chris Simpson (ENG) 14-12, 11-5, 11-7; (2) Mohamed Abouelghar (EGY) beat (5) Nicolas Mueller (SUI) 11-7, 11-6, 11-9.
