The Table Tennis Federation of India (TTFI) on Thursday issued a press release stating that it has taken the decision to grant affiliation to the Tamil Nadu Table Tennis Association, registered under the Tamil Nadu Societies Registration Act (1975), led by the former National champion V. Chandrasekar (president) and J. Selvakumar (secretary).

The TTFI had earlier disaffiliated the Tamil Nadu Table Tennis Association, registered under the Companies Act, led by M.V.M. Velmurugan (president). The Madras High Court had last month issued a stay order for the same. Now, the Supreme Court has issued a stay order for the High Court stay, enabling the TTFI to grant affiliation to the Chandrasekar-led body.

It's been further stated in the release that the Chandrasekar-led body will be the only affiliated body in the State, and that as a consequence it has been empowered to carry out all activities pertaining to table tennis in the State.
