New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor expects to be "100 per cent" fit for the ICC World T20 after making his comeback from injury over the weekend.

Taylor picked up a side strain in an One-Day International against Pakistan in late January, which caused him to miss the ODI and Test series against Australia earlier this month.

The Black Caps begin their World T20 campaign against hosts India on March 15, and Taylor is optimistic of being in peak condition by then.

"It was good to get through that, but I'm confident it will get a lot better come the next couple of weeks," he said.

"The physios tell me that it's good to stretch it out and over time it will loosen off. I'm sure by the time we play our first game, it's going to be 100 per cent."
