RCB beats KKR by eight wickets

Mohammed Siraj bowled an impressive spell and recorded figures of 3/8 as a dominant Royal Challengers Bangalore crushed Kolkata Knight Riders by eight wickets.

Chasing a small total of 85, skipper Virat Kohli and Gurkeerat Singh chased down the total in 13.3 overs.

RCB 82/2 after 13 overs: Kohli with a smack to the mid-wicket gets RCB closer to the total.

RCB 77/2 after 12 overs: Gurkeerat with two back to back boundaries and Bangalore in touching distance to a huge win.

RCB 67/2 after 11 overs: Ferguson gives just four from his over but Kohli and Gurkeerat are in absolute control of this match.

RCB 63/2 after 10 overs: Kohli and Gurkeerat open up with a boundary each and the latter's lift over extra cover was such a treat to watch. Bangalore motoring on.

RCB 54/2 after 9 overs: Gurkeerat Singh releases the pressure with an exquisite cover drive off Ferguson.

RCB 48/2 after 8 overs: Excellent from Varun Chakravarthy as he build a little bit of pressure by giving just two runs.

RCB 46/2 after 7 overs: Lockie Ferguson comes into the attack and he removes Aaron Finch and then a harakiri saw Devdutt Padikkal walking back. Virat Kohli takes charge.

RCB 44/0 after 6 overs: Kolkata has missed the trick as the only way it would have fought back was with wickets. Currently, Padikkal and Finch have chopped off half the chase.

RCB 37/0 after 5 overs: Now they are racing away and pressing the accelerator as Finch with  another boundary has declared his intentions that he is not going to waste time.

RCB 28/0 after 4 overs: Runs are coming freely and both Padikkal and Finch with boundaries are ticking the scorecard and not allowing Kolkata of any chance of a comeback.

RCB 15/0 after 3 overs: Devdutt Padikkal gets going with a boundary over long-off as Kolkata eyes an early breakthrough.

RCB 8/0 after 2 overs: Cautious start by both Finch and Padikkal as the openers aren't in a hurry in a small chase. They are ensuring Bangalore doesn't suffer early setback.

RCB 4/0 after 1 over: Bangalore up and running in the run chase with both Padikkal and Finch off the mark.

We are back for the chase and Bangalore just needs 85. A collapse can put Kolkata back in the game but Bangalore would aim to avoid complacency and ace this small chase. Devdutt Padikkal and Aaron Finch in the middle and it will be Pat Cummins to Padikkal.

End of Innings: KKR posts 84/8 after 20 overs

KKR 58/7 after 16 overs: Washington Sundar hits the final nail in the coffin as he removes Eoil Morgan. Stat alert -15 overs by KKR is the slowest any team to reach the score of 50 in the history of IPL. The previous most being 13.1 overs by KXIP against CSK in Durban in 2009.

KKR 52/6 after 15 overs: Eoin Morgan finally finds the boundary, just the third one of the game as Kolkata crawls over the 50-run mark.

KKR 46/6 after 14 overs: Excellent from Washington Sundar as he just five singles come from the over.

KKR 41/6 after 13 overs: Yuzvendra Chahal joins the party with his second wicket as he picks Pat Cummins, who fails to deliver a cameo, that he has been doing all this season. Bangalore tightening screws.

KKR 36/5 after 10 overs: Washington Sundar further squeezes the life out of Kolkata's innings by giving just three from his first over. Morgan is a spectator with Cummins in company.

KKR 33/5 after 9 overs: Yuzvendra Chahal strikes to leave Kolkata five down. Excellent review from Kohli, just in the nick of time and it's three reds.. It was the googly that Karthik failed to pick, plays outside the line and the ball sneaks through to hit him on the back-leg. He was a goner, the umpire got it wrong but Kohli reviews to hand Chahal his first wicket and further push Kolkata on the backfoot. Chahal almost had Pat Cummins trapped, the umpire gave OUT but this time Cummins reviews and it's a successful one.

KKR 30/4 after 8 overs: Pressure release from Morgan as he pulls Saini over the deep square leg boundary for a maximum.

KKR 23/4 after 7 overs: Isuru Udana is introduced into the attack and Morgan finally finds a boundary as he drives through the covers. Kolkata needs more boundaries but the batsmen are hitting straight into the hands of the fielders.

KKR 17/4 after 6 overs: End of PowerPlay and Bangalore would have taken that any given day. Morgan and Karthik are struggling to time the ball and fielding has been inspiring. Bangalore on the attack.

KKR 15/4 after 5 overs: Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik need to bat out of their skin to propel Kolkata to a respectable total. They desperately need a partnership as there is a spring in Bangalore's feet after polishing off the top-order.

KKR 14/4 after 4 overs: Bangalore firmly on top and what a spell Mohammed Siraj is bowling. He picks his third wicket and this time gets the dangerous Tom Banton as De Villiers collects his second catch of the evening. Kolkata in doldrums.

KKR 13/3 after 3 overs: Kolkata in deep trouble as Navdeep Saini strikes after Mohammed Siraj's double strike. Saini removes Shubman Gill as he falls to an ambitious pull shot. Tom Banton and Dinesh Karthik have a job in their hands.

KKR 3/2 after 2 overs: What a start from Bangalore as Mohammed Siraj delivers a double blow by removing Rahul Tripathi and then castling Nitish Rana for a duck. Dream start.

KKR 3/0 after 1 over: Excellent start from Chris Morris and just three runs come from the opening over. Both Gill and Tripathi are off the mark.

Alright we are all set for Match 39 to begin and it will be Rahul Tripathi along with Shubman Gill who will open the batting for KKR. It will be Chris Morris with the new ball. Here we go!
