Alisson does well to find Nunez with a long ball. Nunez with almost the perfect pass to Salah at the far-post but Ostigard with the slighest of touches to take the ball away from Salah.
Ramsay, under pressure from Raspadori, puts the ball outside for a Napoli corner. Still time to grab a late equallizer.

LIVERPOOL SCORES!! ITS SALAH!! Tsimikas delivers a great ball into the box from a Liverpool corner. Nunez gets up and heads the ball towards goal. Meret cannot hold on to the ball and Salah bundles it over the line. For a moment, it seemed like it was Nunez’s goal but the goal is given to Salah.

Di Lorenzo cuts in and tries to curl the ball into the net. But he cannot keep his effort down and the ball goes out of goal for a Liverpool goalkick.
Osimhen tries to find the far-post by flashing a shot across goal. He is nowhere near the target with that shot of his.
Play has actually been called back. Salah was offside then Alexander-Arnold played the ball to him.
Alexander-Arnold with lovely technique to find Salah on the right flank. Salah tries to find Nunez with an early cross but the ball does not reach Nunez.
The match enters its final quarter. Napoli is on a run of 13 straight wins. It has 15 minutes and added time to maintain that run.
Liverpool’s Alexander-Arnold becomes the latest player to see yellow.

Jones does well to keep the ball and set up Elliott for the shot. Elliott goes for the shot but cannot keep it down as the ball sails above the goal.
Jones tries to find Salah inside the box with a lobbed ball from the middle of the park. However, the ball is cleared just in the nick of time before it reached the Egyptian.

Salah thought he had broken clear and had space to run, but Kim recovers well to snatch the ball from the Egyptian.
After a lengthy VAR check, the goal is ruled out. It was Ostigard who was offiside by the slighest of margins. Osimhen’s position had nothing to do with the decision. It is still goalless at Anfield.
VAR check going on to check whether the goal will stand or not. Ostigard wasn’t offside when Kvaratskhelia delivered the cross to him but Osimhen was. The check is to see whether Osimhen interfered with Alisson’s line of sight.
NAPOLI SCORES!! IT IS OSTIGARD!! Kvaratskhelia delivers a peach of a ball from a Napoli freekick and Ostigard heads the ball inside the net with a wonderful diving header.
Firmino pounces on the loose ball after a melee inside the penalty box. But it is blocked and the ball is cleared to safety. Liverpool starting the second-half on the frontfoot.
Liverpool Sub: IN- Elliott OUT- Milner
Milner is down early in the second half and it does not look good for him. The early clash of heads with Anguissa is the most likely reason.
The second-half kicks-off at Anfield with both teams looking for their first goal.
It is goalless between Liverpool and Napoli at the break.

The assistant referee raises his flag and even if Salah would have scored, that wouldn’t have counted.
Jones plays a wonderful through ball to Salah who runs clear on goal. One-on-one with Meret, Salah shoots but Meret gets a touch which sends the ball out for a corner.
Milner is quickly back to his feet and should be okay to continue.
Milner involved in a nasty collision with Anguissa where the former has come off worse. A bleeding Milner stays down and gets medical attention.
Liverpool’s Konate sees yellow for his reckless challenge on Lobotka.
Mohamed Salah stays close to Olivera putting the Napoli player under pressure near his penalty area but Olivera does well to get the goalkick.
Di Lorenzo does well to flick the ball away from Jones but is fouled by the Liverpool player. Lot of unnecessary fouls disturbing the tempo of the match currently.
End-to-end football here!! Salah gets the ball near Napoli’s penalty area. He cuts in and sets up Thiago for the shot. Thiago tries to place the ball by opening his right foot but Meret is alert enough to make the save.
Ndombele gets his shot away but it is straight to Alisson who does well to hold on to the ball.
Tsimikas tries to find Salah at the far-post with a well-measured cross from the left. Salah would have got the ball if not for Olivera’s timely intervention.
Konate goes on a driving run from Liverpool’s defence but he is brought down by Osimhen. A freekick to Liverpool.
Kvaratskhelia with a searching ball inside the box but the cross is overhit and beats everyone in the box.
Kvaratskhelia takes his team but he shakes it off and is okay to continue.
Kvaratskhelia seems to be hurt after he could not stop in time after delivering a cross from the left. That was a painful collision with the advertisement boards.
Liverpool with its trademark pressing in the early stages of the first half but Napoli’s defence has been disciplined. No substantial threat for either keeper to deal with till now.
Kvaratskhelia looks up and lines a shot from distance. His effort is misguided and it is a goalkick to Liverpool.
Tsimikas wriggles away from Di Lorenzo and swings a cross inside the box. But the cross is straight to Meret who collects without any fuss.
Salah does well to slip a pass to Jones on the left. Jones tries to get a shot away but he is put under pressure by Napoli keeper Meret and the Liverpool player can only lob the ball to the roof of the net.
A fast start to the match with both teams showing clear intentions of attacking.
