Second Division side Delhi FC caused an upset as it held former Indian Super League champion Bengaluru FC to 2-2 draw in a group C match of Durand Cup football at the Mohun Bagan ground on Saturday.
Despite playing under slushy underfoot conditions, BFC found the lead around the half-hour mark through N. Shiva Sakthi.
But Delhi made a strong comeback after the break and established the lead as Trinidad and Tobago striker Willis Plaza struck twice in a span of four minutes.
Substitute Bidyashagar Singh denied Delhi FC the chance of earning a win scoring the equaliser for Bengaluru FC in the final quarter of the action.
The result kept Bengaluru FC, the only unbeaten side in the group, at the top with four points while Delhi FC continued at the bottom with just one point to its credit.
