Chennai City FC fought hard all the way but debutant Neroca managed to hold it to a goalless draw in the Hero I-league at the Nehru Stadium here on Tuesday. It was quite disappointing for CCFC as it failed to convert the home ground advantage yet again.

The first half was dominated by the Chennai men. They enjoyed the lion's share of the ball for the most part. They attacked vigorously and even managed to gain easy access into the rival citadel. It did rattle the Neroca defenders as there was not much damage done with the home strikers failing to fire.

The Orange Brigade from Manipur is known for its sharp attack and counter but for once it was seen busy defending. It did no good for the team as the CCFC men kept pushing hard for that vital goal.

They did get one in the 32nd minute. It looked golden as the Neroca defence was left stunned but it fetched no result.

The second session was played on similar lines but Neroca withstood the pressure well to earn a well-deserved draw.
