Federation Cup champion, Bengaluru FC announced the appointment of Naushad Moosa as an assistant coach for its first team as well as reserve side, on Thursday.

Moosa's appointment comes at a crucial juncture for BFC, as it signed up to participate in the Indian Soccer League (ISL). The former I-League defender was associated with the Reliance Foundation Youth Champs in Navi Mumbai,  as an U-14 coach.

He holds a AFC Pro licence and served as the Head coach and Head of Youth Development for the under-19 team at Pune FC. He also worked as the Head coach with the Air India team and as a Youth coach  at Mumbai FC.

Moosa’s coaching highs came at Pune FC, where he won the U-18 I-League twice. The 46-year-old will join the BFC coaching team, where head coach, Albert Roca and assistant coach, Carles Cuadrat have been retained.

A former player himself, Moosa has played for Air India, Mahindra United, Churchill Brothers, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting and was widely known for his long throw-ins.
