Lionel Messi in action against Real Madrid

Lionel Messi, who got his 500th goal to help Barcelona to a 3-2 win over Real Madrid set another record on Sunday.

Messi surpassed another Argentinian legend Alfredo Di Stefano, with his first goal of the night to top the list.

Di Stefano has 14 goals, while Messi now has 16 goals in El Clasicos.

His memorable display helped Barca topple Madrid and threw the title race wide open.
