PKL: Warriors thwarts Bulls' charge

Bengal Warriors rode on its defensive prowess in a fine 32-26 win over Bengaluru Bulls in Vivo Pro Kabaddi 2017. Warriors skipper Surjeet Singh displayed class at the back with eight tackle points; the maximum by an player from either side.

Korean raider Jang Lee's reflexes and aggression in rival territory complemented the brilliant performance of his teammates on the defence. Defender Ran Singh lent a hand with three points, as Warriors extended its dominance over Bulls for the second time in this competition.

The Bengaluru-based team, though, went into the game with a confident frame of mind, buoyed by hard-fought ties against strong Gujarat Fortunegiants and solid Patna Pirates. A super raid by Gurvinder Singh (seven points) dealt an early blow to the opposition but Bulls captain and ace raider Rohit Kumar was trapped twice by the Bengal team in super tackles.

In the end, Warriors raced to its fourth victory in eight games, securing the No. 3 position in Zone B.

In the second match, Dabang Delhi edged U Mumba 33-32 in a thrilling finish.
