It’s not everyday that the ‘God of Cricket’ replies to a fan’s letter. But when he does, it creates a storm. From Monday, the names of Sachin Tendulkar and Karan Gandhi are doing the rounds in social media, with more than 1.65 lakh people talking about it on Instagram.

One must be wondering, what is this all about. Well, on Monday, Tendulkar responded on Instagram to a letter sent by his U.S. based fan Gandhi, and that has got the social media abuzz. In his hand-written letter, Gandhi wrote, “I grew up seeing you play cricket, I missed countless tuition classes to watch you play day and night ODIs in India.”

Sachin posted the letter sent to him by Karan Gandhi on Instagram.

To which, Tendulkar too had a witty reply. “I'm sure your childhood tuition teacher mustn't have been too happy when ODI matches were on,” Tendulkar wrote, thanking Gandhi for the letter.

The iconic cricketer, who is now associated with the Mumbai Indians, posted the fan letter, after which his fans and former colleagues all took to Instagram to like and share the picture.

The 43-year-old recently unveiled the trailer of the film ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’, which is based on his life. And now, with the film slated for a May 26 release, Tendulkar has made it a point to reach out to all his fans.

But the fact that he actually took time out to respond to a fan letter has got the cricketing world talking.
