ATK Mohun Bagan 2 (Lenny 18’, Kiyan 28’) -0 Indian Navy
Kiyan with a burst of pace as he tries to make a charge at goal. His pace allows him to get past a couple of players but he is dispossessed by a sliding tackle.
ATKMB booking- Abhishek of ATKMB is the latest player to see yellow.
Save- Adersh makes a solid connection with the ball from distance. It was travelling well and the ball moved a bit in the air but Arsh with a confident save as he guides the ball away from danger.
Indian Navy change: IN- Vijay OUT- Bibake Thapa
Continuous pressure by ATKMB on Indian Navy’s goal- The Mariners trying to find an opening to score a third goal. Can’t remember the last time Indian Navy had a prolonged stretch of possession.
Inayath shoots from distance with his left-foot but the shot lacks power as Arsh Anwar makes a comfortable save.
Indian Navy change: IN- Inayath and Jijo come on
The intensity of the game has gone down- the tempo has slowed and ATKMB looks very comfortable with the proceedings.
ATKMB change: IN- Subhasish Bose OUT- Deepak Tangri
Novin gets his head on the ball after it was floated inside the box from a freekick. Arsh Anwar came out but could not get a touch. Novin makes contact with the ball but his header is not on target.
Booking- Ravi Rana of ATKMB sees yellow his challenge on Hari.
Save- Arsh Anwar gets down well to block Hari’s shot at goal. The shot was from point-blank range but the ATKMB keeper did well to get the block.
ATKMB change: IN- Engson OUT- Fardin
ATK Mohun Bagan still dominating the overall gameplay but Indian Navy’s attacking play better than the first half.
Fardin plays a long diagonal to Manvir on the right flank. Manvir looks up and finds Fardin with a pin-point ball inside the box. Fardin cannot get a proper touch to guide the ball into the open net.
Close- Fardin goes for goal from distance and catches his shot beautifully. Vishnu somehow got a touch to the ball as it rattles the crossbar and comes back into play.
A wonderful counter attack by ATKMB- Fardin with a wonderful touch to bring the ball down. He rolls the ball to Ricky on the left. Ricky shoots at goal but hits the crossbar.
Early chance in the second half for Indian Navy. A great delivery from the freekick leads to a melee inside the crowded box. Navy tries to get a shot at goal but ATKMB defence does well to clear the ball.

Indian Navy must go all out really in the second half- it has nothing to lose.
Manvir almost gets the ball on the left flank but good defensive work by Pintu to sent the ball out of play.
Manvir with a chance to shoot at goal as he finds himself in a good position inside the Indian Navy box. However, the forward takes too much time and is dispossessed.
Booking- Deepak Tangri of ATKMB is shown the yellow card.
A brilliant through ball almost finds Sreyas again who had made the run. However, Kaith comes out in time and gathers the ball.
Finally a positive move from Indian Navy- A long punt from the defence finds Sreyas who manages to break clear. He takes a shot at goal but blasts the ball above the crossbar.
Indian Navy cannot find any way through the ATKMB defence- Navy sitting back and allowing ATKMB players all the time on the ball.
GOOOOALL! Kiyan makes it two for ATK Mohun Bagan- One on one with the keeper, Kiyan kept his composure to slot the ball inside the net past Vishnu. He made a brilliant run to break clear and kept his cool for the finish.
Kiyan with time inside the box- He waits for support but decides to go for goal himself. His shot is blocked by the Indian Navy defence.
ATKMB seems to have found its footing after the goal- Navy mostly chasing the ball as the host looks comfortable passing it around the pitch. The Mariners posing all the attacking threat as of now.
Save- Lenny tries to curl one past the keeper. His effort is on target but Vishnu gets a touch on the ball at full-stretch.
GOOOOALL! Lenny Rodriguez gives ATKMB the lead with a beautiful finish- It was a crowded box but Lenny kept his composure to make space and slot the ball int the bottom-left corner. Navy keeper Vishnu did not have a chance to saving that.
Clever finish by Fardin as he lobs the ball over the keeper’s head into the net but it doesn’t count as he is flagged offside again.
Indian Navy has been good defensively till now, but it has been missing quality in the final third- it has the fewest attempts on target in the competition
Kiyan finds Fardin with a through ball on the left- Fardin takes a shot at goal but play stops as Fardin is adjudged offside by the assistant referee.
Kiyan has already made some dangerous runs from the left- this time he finds Fardin with a well-measured lofted ball. Fardin sets up Abhishek for the shot but the latter cannot make proper contact with the ball.
Early pressure by ATK Mohun Bagan as the Indian Navy players are pegged back into their own half.

ATK Mohun Bagan will face Indian Navy in a Group B match of the Durand Cup 2022 on Wednesday, August 31 at the Kishore Bharati Krirangan.
The Mariners have four points from three matches and currently sits second in the group behind Mumbai City FC. ATKMB will come into the match after a 1-0 win against arch-rival Emami East Bengal.
Despite winning the Kolkata Derby, the Mariners have had a disappointing run in this year’s Durand Cup as they have just one win in three matches. Right now, given the dire situation Juan Ferrando’s team finds itself in, a win is the safest way to ensure qualification. Even if ATKMB manage to win the match, it would still need to depend on the Rajasthan United vs Indian Navy match. If Rajasthan wins that match, it will have seven points and will directly qualify for the quarters from the group with the already qualified Mumbai City FC.
