Himanshu Sharma is into the attack. He’s a leg spinner. Buttler takes a single on the first ball. Samson pulls in the gap between deep midwicket and long on. Miscommunication between the fielders gets Samson a boundary. Samson pulls and Kohli dives in front but can’t grab the ball. To make it worse, the ball goes past him for four. 14 from it. 

Cam Green into the attack. Samson pulls on the second ball but good fielding at the square leg cuts it down to two. Four runs in four balls. A double on the fifth ball. Another double on the last ball. 

Mayank Dagar into the attack. Buttler punches off the backfoot and times it well towards covers for four. Buttler takes the aerial route and the ball lands just before the midwicket boundary rope. Too full by Mayank and Buttler launches the ball straight for a SIX. And another four! Cut past extra cover. 21 runs from the over. 

Buttler gently cuts the Dayal’s delivery past short third to begin the over with a boundary. Comes back well with two dot balls. Add another dot. Now Buttler gets some width and he pushes the ball towards extra cover for four. A single to end the over. 

Mohammed Siraj into the attack. Buttler ramps him over keeper for four! Top start to the over. Buttler hits the ball high in the air, three fielders run for it, but no one is able to grab the ball. Green was the closest, who dived but for nothing. Eight runs in first five balls. Single to end. 

Topley continues. A single on the third ball. Full and classy straight drive by Samson for four! Seven runs from that over.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s Virat Kohli became the first centurion of the IPL 2024 season when he reached the triple-figure mark against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.

Faf du Plessis: It looks a good wicket, it should remain the same in both innings. We have been inconsistent, we get an opportunity to do things better. We are trying to find the roles for the players. That hasn’t worked as yet. Saurav Chauhan is making his debut, he has some serious amount of skill and batting power, looks like a nice and calm guy.

This has been a 180-kind of a surface. A big venue though. It’s a hard surface with a bit of grass cover. Looks well prepared. You’ll get high scoring games at this venue. Something in it for the fast bowlers as they’ll get some extra bounce with new ball. The spinners will get some turn as well. It looks a bit dry in areas. Win the toss, bat first.
