Diego Forlan set up Argentine team-mate Mathias Defederico with a side-footed pass to slot home the match-winner for Mumbai City FC in an away Hero ISL 2016 game against FC Pune City. The 69th minute goal helped the visitor sneak home a 1-0 victory at the Balewadi stadium in a game scrappy clash, marked by tentative play from both sides.
> Edel Bete, the former Chennaiyin keeper who moved this season to Pune, dived to save the shot, but Defederico had the time to pick his spot in goal beyond the reach of the huge Cameroon custodian. Jesus Tato wasted two clear chances, hurrying his attempt with the goal in sight.
Mumbai City, with one victory and one draw in four encounters with the home team so far, started with Volpato in goal and Jackichand Singh on the bench. The Brazilian custodian watched as Arata darted down the right and swung the ball across into the goalmouth, was forced to act again to thwart an attempt off a free-kick.

Arata slipped a delightful pass through the defence for Oberman to finish, Volpato closed in to block before damage could be done. The Argentine was taken off at half-time and a little later the hard-working Arata came off to be replaced by Francis Fernandes.
First-match blues continued in the second half with play being disrupted by frequent loss of possession. The tentative play on the ball and inability from both sides to link up with a combination of passes made the Maha-derby a dull affair for most parts. Pune City had a great chance to hopes fell when Spanish striker ran alone to trap a diagonal pass through the middle to the right, but fired wide.
