India Women’s 4 x 100m Freestyle Relay final: Dhinidhi, Maana, Janhvi, Shivangi clocked 3:54.66 to finish seventh, 20.70secs behind first place China. China broke Asian Games record by timing 3:33.96. Previously held record of Japan was 3:36.52 in 2018.

India’s Charanjot Singh and Karman Tikka bow out of the Asian Games 2022 after suffering a hard-fought defeats on the opening day.

Charanjot Singh suffered a 0:2 defeat to China’s Liu Jiacheng in his opening game but bounced back strongly with three consecutive wins. He won by 2:0 against Aristorenas Jorrel of Phillipines and, 2-1 against Alrowaihi RKM of Bahrain and 2-0 against Yessentayev Olzhas of Kazakhstan in the Losers Bracket Round 1, 2 and 3 respectively. However his campaign came to an end after enduring another 0-2 defeat against Liu Jiacheng of China in the Losers Bracket Round 4.

On the other hand, Karman Singh went down fighting in a 1-2 loss against Faqeehi Abdulaziz Abdullatif of Bahrain in his tournament opener. Similar to Charanjot, he too made a strong comeback by defeating Kiswani Abdelrahman of Palestine by 2-1 in the Losers Bracket Round 1 before going down by 1-2 against Aldhafiri Meshari of Kuwait in the Losers Bracket Round 2 to exit the competition.

India’s Sunil Singh lost against Philippines’ Arnel Mandal in the men’s 56kg 1/8 final. It was a Win by Point Difference for Mandal.

Indian men lose 0-3 against Republic of Korea in the quarterfinal.

Indian men draw 1-1 with Myanmar at the end of the second half. India is through to the round of the 16 and will face Saudi Arabia in the next match.

In women’s first round, Kuneru Humpi beats Le That Nguyen (1.0-0.0) and Harika Dronavalli beats WGM Qianyungong (1.0-0.0).

Srihari Nataraj clocks 54.48 seconds and finishes sixth, 2.25 secs behind XU Jiayu of China, who broke the Asian Games record by clocking 52.23. The previous Games record was 52.34, set by Irie Ryosuke of Japan in 2014.

Sathiyan goes down 2-3 against Ganghyeon Park and squanders a 2-0 lead. He loses 12-10, 11-5, 7-11, 8-11, 6-11. Sharath Kamal is in action against Junsung Oh next.

Sathiyan has won the first two games 12-10 and 11-5 against Ganghyeon Park.

Sunil Chhetri scored via a penalty in the 23rd minute to hand India the lead and it has been an entertaining first half thus far. The Blue Tigers currently lead 1-0 at half time

In boy’s Dinghy - ILCA4, Adhvait Menon finished race seven at 10th position with a timing of 38:37. In race 10, he recieved a “U” Flag Disqualification. Overall, he’s currently at eighth position in the points table with three races remaining.

In men’s Skiff - 49er, KC Ganapathy and Varun Thakkar finished first in race nine after clocking 30:24 and followed it up with a second-place finish with a timing of 29:26. The pair is currently placed second in the medal tally with four races to go.

In men’s Windsurfing - iQFoil, Jerome Kumar Savarimuthu did not start in race 13 and did not finish the next race. He’s currently sixth in the points table with five races remaining.

In girl’s Dinghy - ILCA4, Neha Thakur clocked 37:23 in race seven to finish third and then finished second in race eight with a timing of 36:45. Overall, Neha is third in points table with three more races to go.

In women’s Skiff - 49erFX, Harshita Tomar and Shital Verma clocked 31:41 to finish fourth in race nine and followed it up with a second place finish with a timing of 31:00 in race 10. Overall, the pair is at fourth place with a four more races to go.

In men’s Windsurfer - RS-X, Eabad Ali came sixth in the race nine with a timing of 28:52. In race 10, Ali clocked 22:26 to finish fourth. He’s currently fourth in the overall table with three more races to go.

In women’s Windsurfer - RS-X, Ishwariya Ganesh came fourth in race nine after clocking 34:33. She followed it up with another fourth place finish with a timing of 25:55. Ishwariya is currently placed fourth in medal with three more races to go.

In mixed Dinghy - 470, Sudhanshu Shekhar and Preeti Kongara finish fourth in race seven with a timing of 41:34. Follow it up with a sixth-place finish in race eight, clocking 40:55. The pair is currently fifth in points tally with two more races left.

In mixed Multihull - Nacra 17, Siddeshwar Indar Doiphode and Ramya Saravanan clock 30:43 to finish fourth in race nine. In race 10, the pair finishes third with a timing of 28:04. They currently stand fourth in the medal tally with four more races to go.

In men’s Kite - IKA Formula Kite, Chitresh Tatha finishes seventh with a timing of 15:05 in race 13. In race 14, Tatha again finishes seventh, clocking 13:27. He’s currently at seventh position in the medal tally with two more races left.

India’s Taniksha Khatri loses to Hong Kong’s Man Wai Vivian Kong 7-15. Her campaign at Asian Games 2023 ends here.

In its second and final group match, India has not been able to break the deadlock against Thailand in the first half.

India will be up against Sri Lanka in the gold medal match tomorrow at 11:30AM IST after Sri Lanka’s six-wicket win over Pakistan in the second semifinal.

Sri Lanka restricted Pakistan to 75/8 and then chased the target with six wickets and 21 balls to spare.

Koneru Humpy, D. Harika, Arjun Erigaisi and Vidit Gujarathi all win their opening-round fixtures in the individual event.

The second-seeded all-Indian pair of Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan easily beats Nepal’s Abhishek Bastola and Pradip Khadka 6-2, 6-3 in 58 minutes.

Brilliant performance from the Indian to defeat fifth-seeded Uzbek Shakhzoda Egamberdieva 15-10 and book her place in the quarterfinals, which take place today from 2:45PM IST.

India doing well to not let Japan run away with the third set. It is 10-all at the moment.

From 12-all, Japan wins three straight points. The finish line is in sight for the Asian No. 1.

India has taken a timeout.

Japan extends its lead to five points at 19-14.

Japan has eight match points at 24-16.

Japan wins the third set 25-17 and that’s it.

That ends Indian men’s team hopes of a medal but still, a very memorable campaign for the team that shocked South Korea before thrashing Chinese Taipei, two much higher ranked teams.

Taniksha Khatri beats Ena Arora 15-11 in an-all Indian clash.

Khatri next faces Uzbek fencer Shakhzoda Egamberdieva in the round of 16 at 1:30PM IST today.

While it has been a closer second set when compared to the first one, Japan has steadily opened up a three-point gap to lead 15-12 against India. Japan has extended that gap to five points now - 20-15. Japan wraps up the second set 25-18.

And Sharath Kamal has done it!!!! The most experienced member of the squad steps up when it matters. From 0-2 down, the 41-year-old Sharath bounces back to beat Kenzhigulov 3-2 (5-11, 7-11, 11-9, 11-8, 11-9)

India beats Kazakhstan 3-2 to progress to the quarterfinals where it will face South Korea at 4PM IST today.

From 0-2 down, Sharath Kamal has made it 2-2 in the deciding singles after clinching the third and fourth games 11-9 and 11-8. One game to settle the tie!

The score is 4-4 in the final game. Sharath moves ahead to lead 6-5. Not for long though as Kenzhigulov levels the score at 6-6. Make that 7-7.

Sharath back in the lead at 9-8. Again, Kenzhigulov levels the score - 9-9. Sharath has a match point at 10-9!

Asian No. 1 Japan dominates the first set and eventually closes it 25-16.

Sharath Kamal, after losing the first two games, wins the third 9-11. He keeps himself and the Indian team alive in this round of 16 clash against Kazakhstan.

It’s Japan who has a 10-6 lead in the opening set. Asian No. 1 Japan stretches its lead to 15-8.

The Indian boxer beats Jordan’s S Alhasanat via RSC. Preeti next faces Z Shekerbekova of Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals

Sharath Kamal loses the opening game 5-11 to Kenzhigulov. The Indian paddler concedes the second game 7-11.

At the end of the group stage, the draw has been made for the knockouts and as it turns out, in the women’s epee individual event, Taniksha Khatri faces Ena Arora in the round of 32. The clash will happen at 12:15PM IST today.

Sathiyan has a chance to finish the tie here itself as he levels the score as two-games all against Gerassimenko after winning the fourth 11-5. However, the Kazakh clinches the decider 11-5 and wins the match. The tie will be decided by a five singles match between Sharath Kamal and Aidos Kenzhigulov.

Sathiyan loses the opening game 5-11 to Gerassimenko. However, he bounces back to take a close second one 11-9. The Kazakh paddler retakes the lead by winning the third game 11-9.

Harmeet Desai beats Alan Kurmangaliyev 3-0 (11-7, 12-10, 11-5) which gives India 2-1 lead in the round of 16 tie.

Next up - Sathiyan vs Gerassimenko

Top seed Charanjot Singh lost to 0-2 to China’s Liu Jiacheng while Karman Singh suffered 1-2 defeat against Bahrain’s Abdulaziz Faqeehi in the round of 32.

They will now play in the loser’s bracket.

Manika Batra loses 1-3 (12-10, 8-11, 7-11, 6-11) to Suthasini Sawettabut and with that, the Indian women’s team loses the round of 16 tie 2-3 to Thailand.

Sathiyan brings India back in the tie against Kazakhstan with a 3-0 (14-12, 11-8, 11-4) win over Aidos Kenzhigulov.

Meanwhile, in women’s round of 16 team match between India and Thailand, Manika Batra is involved in a close contest with Sawettabut. Manika won first game 12-10 but lost the second 8-11 and third 7-11.

Indian team goes down 0-38 to Hong Kong, China, in its Pool F. It will next face Japan at 3:35PM IST today in its second group match.

India played without skipper Harmanpreet Singh but that did not affect the men in blue as they defeat Uzbekistan 16-0 in their Pool A opener. India’s next group match is against Singapore on Tuesday.

Nagal, seeded fifth, beats Macao’s Ho Tin Marco Leung 6-0, 6-0 in 45 minutes to reach the round of 16.

Nagal next faces either 10th-seeded Kazakh Beibit Zhukayev or Tajikistan’s Firuz Mukhidinov.

The round of 16 match in the women’s event between India and Thailand goes to a deciding fifth singles after Ayhika loses 2-3 (12-10, 4-11, 11-5, 4-11, 3-11) to Paranang.

It comes down to Manika Batra vs Suthasini Sawettabut.

In the men’s round of 16 match between India and Kazakhstan, Sharath Kamal loses the opener 1-3 (8-11, 11-9, 6-11, 8-11) to Kirill Gerassimenko.

India’s top-ranked player Sumit Nagal easily wins the first set 6-0 against Macao’s Ho Tin Marco Leung in the men’s singles round of 32.

Indian team in women’s 4x100m Freestyle Relay event qualifies for the final after finishing sixth overall in the heat.

Sutirtha comes from behind to beat Tamolwan Khetkhuan 3-2 (11-1, 9-11, 3-11, 11-7, 11-7) and gives India 2-1 lead.

Ayhika faces Paranang in the next singles and has the chance to kill the tie.

Bibish Kathiresan goes down 5-15 against South Korea’s Lee Kwanghyun in the round of 16 of the men’s foil individual event.

After winning silver in the team event, Ramita clinches bronze in the women’s 10m air rifle individual event.

Ramita finishes third with 230.1. China’s Han Jiayu wins silver with 251.3 while her compatriot Huang Yuting takes the gold with 252.7, a new Games record.

Mehuli Ghosh, the other Indian who qualified for the final, finished fourth.

Ramita begins with a 10.5 while for Mehuli, it is only a 10.0. After the first stage of 10 shots, China’s Huang Yuting leads with a score of 105.3 while Ramita and two other shooters are tied for second place. Mehuli is sixth. Now, after every two shots, one shooter will be eliminated.

Chinese Taipei’s Chen Chi is the first one to exit the final.

Mehuli survives the next round of elimination by just 0.1. Ramita stays on second.

Srihari Nataraj finishes fifth overall in the men’s 100m backstroke heats to qualify for the final.

Utkarsh Patil finished 20th.

India wins silver in men’s eight event with a timing of 5:43.01s. China wins gold and Indonesia clinches bronze.

Varun Kumar makes it 2-0 for India against Uzbekistan three minutes before the end of first quarter. Two minutes into the second quarter, Abhishek makes it 3-0.

Bibish Kathiresan makes it to the Round of 16 after a 15-12 win over Indonesia’s Tian Wei Jonathan Au Eong. However, Dev goes down 8-15 against Chinese Taipei’s Chen Yi-Tung.

Kathiresan faces Republic of Korea’s Lee Kwanghyun at 9:30AM IST for a place in the quarterfinal.

India confirms its first-ever Asian Games medal in cricket as the women’s team thrashes Bangladesh by eight wickets in a one-sided semifinal.

India will face either Pakistan or Sri Lanka in the final.

Sawettabut comes back from the brink of defeat to steal the third game 15-13 and keep this second singles against Ayhika going.

Indian team finishes second-last with a timing of 7:12.40s. China, once again, bags the gold medal.

India wins its first medal at the 19th Asian Games.

The trio of Ramita, Mehuli Ghosh and Ashi Chouksey secures silver in the women’s 10m air rifle team event at the end of the qualification round with a total score of 1886. China wins gold with 1896.6 while Mongolia takes bronze with 1880.

Ramita (631.9) - 2nd, Mehuli - (630.8) - 5th, qualify for the individual final. China’s Han Jiayu sets a new Qualification Asian Record with a score of 634.1, 0.1 better than the previous mark set by her compatriot Zhao Ruozhu in New Delhi in 2019.

Ashi (623.3) finishes 29th.

India’s Anjul Namdeo gets a score of 9.710 and is currently in the silver medal position in Men’s Changquan!

Ramita has climbed up to fifth while Mehuli has slipped to sixth after Series 4. Ashi is 26th at the moment. India looks to set to win the team silver here and secure its first medal of the 19th Asian Games.
