48 athletes (24 teams) per gender can qualify for the Games, with only a maximum of 4 athletes (2 teams) each per NOC.
Qualification process
Qualification will be decided through the following competitions
1. The winner of the FIVB Beach Volleyball Senior World Championships will earn one quota place.
2. Two play-off winners of the FIVB Beach Volleyball Olympic qualification tournament will each earn one place.
3. The 15 highest ranked teams in both men and women’s Olympic Ranking will each earn one quota place.
4. The highest placed NOC/NF of each Beach Volleyball Continental Cup will earn one quota place.
