Sakshi Dhoni, wife of India’s erstwhile captain M.S. Dhoni, has expressed her annoyance at a major gaffe by E-Governance Services India Ltd. in having her husband’s personal details leaked in an application for Aadhar card via Twitter. Sakshi pointed this out to Union Minister for Information and Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad, who took cognisance of the situation and assured remedial measures would be taken.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has blacklisted the operator for 10 years and ordered an inquiry into the incident, according to a report in The Hindu. No penal action will be taken since the Aadhar card was not generated. “We will be conducting a further enquiry and take action accordingly. All options will be considered,” UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey said.

Sakshi had replied to a Tweet by Prasad of a picture of Dhoni registering his fingerprints on a machine. She wrote, “@rsprasad @CSCegov_ is there any privacy left ??? Information of adhaar card including application is made public property!#disappointed.”

When Prasad was further pointed out that private information of Dhoni was leaked via Twitter on the Twitter handle of E-Governance Services India Ltd., Prasad wrote, “@SaakshiSRawat Thanks for bringing this to my notice. Sharing personal information is illegal. Serious action will be taken against this.”

General Secretary of All India Congress Committee Digvijay Singh wrote on Twitter, “IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad leaks MS Dhoni's Adhaar Card details. Shameful,” and added, “He should apologise immediately and another Adhaar Card should be made for Dhoni. His wife Sakshi is fully justified to be angry and upset.”

Sakshi thanked Prasad following the latter’s assurance of strict action. “ @rsprasad thank you Sir ! Appreciate your prompt reply !” she wrote.
