The first glimpse, via trailer, of a movie on India’s biggest cricket phenomenon Sachin Tendulkar was released on Youtube at 1 pm (IST) on Thursday. On Twitter, Tendulkar had announced the release of this teaser on Monday, generating responses of elation from his friends and followers in the social media circle. The upcoming movie, ‘coming soon’ in theatres, is titled ‘Sachin, a billion dreams’.
The trailer, 59 seconds long, depicts a core philosophical message that Tendulkar’s father had given to him, early in his life, something that has been mentioned in his autobiography as well. Overall, the visuals, of a child depicting Tendulkar and a man walking out to bat amid the ubiquitous chants of ‘Sachin, Sachin’, coupled with the posters, released earlier, signify that the movie will deal with the life in cricket of Tendulkar.
‘55 days of training. One pair of trousers. The Sachin story.’ These words illuminate a poster of the upcoming film, featuring a pair of pads. Another features these words: ‘Three generations. One hero.’
The movie is directed by James Erskine, and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka. The music score is given by A. R. Rahman.
Tendulkar has been wished well by his ex-peers and others in the cricket community for this film, including Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, R. Ashwin, Rohit Sharma, Yuvraj Singh, Harsha Bhogle, Harbhajan Singh, Amitabh Bachchan, and more.
