Congratulating Rohan Bopanna on his Grand Slam mixed doubles triumph with Gabriela Dabrowski of Canada at the French Open in Paris, the All India Tennis Federation (AITA) expressed confidence that the achievement would help the fourth Grand Slam champion of the country get the elusive Arjuna award.

“We are quite sure that this victory will definitely get him the Arjuna award, which is long overdue, though AITA has recommended his name quite a number of times’’, said a statement from the AITA secretary general, Hironmoy Chatterjee.
