Jaipur Pink Panthers is high on confidence and takes on a underperforming Telugu Titans in the Pro Kabaddi League on Wednesday.

Welcome to Sportstar's coverage of the Pro Kabaddi League. This is Lavanya Lakshminaryanan and I will be taking you through today's PKL 8 match between Jaipur Pink Panthers and Telugu Titans.

It all comes down to spirit and Telugu Titans have proven that today with a smart performance to steal their first win of the season. FINALLY. Whether you support this side or not, you'll be chuffed for this bunch. No established captain, star raider injured - a bunch of youngsters without much experience have shown massive character to draw one too many close games before finally registering their first win of the season.  Here's a look at the points table:

Last raid and it seems like Rajnish has not made a legal raid here. He needed to cross the first white line to make the raid legal and he's done it. The reviews confirm it. TITANS HAVE THEIR FIRST WIN! I need to pinch myself to be sure.
Surinder in such a hurry as he goes for the Panthers raider. What an error this. So avoidable.

33-35 Error from Jaipur this time as they gift Adarsh a touch after holding out patiently for most part of the raid.

33-34 Error error error.
Titans come on! Surinder goes in for the advanced tackle on Arjun who happily takes him along to the midline.

One minute to go.

Deepak get the bonus point. He's the last man standing yet again but goes too deep now. He's drowned out in the Titans half. ALL OUT INFLICTED. BRILLIANT COMEBACK FROM THE TITANS. They allowed Deepak to run the clock down and attacked at the right time.

Dharmaraj Cheralathan has entered the fray as the super tackle option is there. Adarsh kicks him on the chest and takes him out. Dharmaraj could do nothing!

Deepak, last man standing, comes in to raid. Titans could have stayed away but Surinder goes in for the tackle but Deepak is tall and stretches out to complete the raid. Bonus plus one point.

29-30 Adarsh gets a simple touch point to reduce Jaipur to one man

29-29 Deepak Niwas Hooda gets a bonus point

Rajnish really wants to raid but the coach wants Adarsh to continue.

28-29 Adarsh is coming through time and time again.
He takes out Sandeep Dull, pushing him past that advance tackle and throwing him down to the midline.

Naveen has been taken out. Pawan substitutes him.

28-28 Adarsh's presence of mind is so impressive. He comes in tempting the right corner and Amit folds and goes for the anklehold which Adarsh slips out of and gets by safely. Adarsh has levelled the scores YET AGAIN.

Jaipur Pink Panthers gave Dabang Delhi their first loss. Can they give the Telugu Titans their first win? I know how that sounds, but this fightback is insanely impressive. But the last few minutes of the game is where all goes down the drain for the Titans. Solid test of character this.

Just under five minutes to go.

Arjun comes in for a do or die raid. Arjun gets a hefty touch on Surinder but Galla Raju comes in with a solid block and dash to neutralise the threat while the others pull him back. What a wonderful effort. Some spirit here from Titans!
Rajnish is really fighting here for the Titans. Sahul Kumar comes in with a faulty double ankle hold, Rajnish slips out and runs to the midline.

Four players remain on the mat and Deepak Hooda is here to raid. But what's baffling is that there are four raiders on the mat for the Titans. Why are they not substituting?

28-25 SUPER RAID FOR ARJUN DESHWAL. How can you keep him off. There's the bonus, plus touch on Sandeep Kandola AND Ankit Beniwal. Well done, young man! Titans are contesting the bonus but Arjun seems comfortably safe. Titans lose their review. AND THAT'S A SUPER 10 FOR ARJUN DESHWAL.

25-25 Adarsh levels points YET AGAIN. He tempts Sahul like before but doesn't go as deep, evades the dash and takes the point to the midline.

25-23 25-24 Deepak Niwas Hooda comes in for the do or die raid. He doesn't get the touch on the right corner and while going back, Surinder Singh blocks him but he pushes them all through to the midline, not before flirting with that lobby. So now, umpires discuss and give Deepak and the Panthers the point. Titans review and ask for a point each. Was this worth the review? We've seen wastage of reviews galore. Is this going to be another such instance? We'll find out now. Ooh. Reviews show Deepak is in some trouble as that shoe in on the line. This seems to be a great review! WHAT A SPOT, TITANS! REVIEW SUCCESSFUL. Surinder goes to the bench, but so does Deepak. Can this be the turning point Titans need?

Sandeep Dhull tries an anklehold on Galla Raju but the Titans raider yanks his way to the midline. Slightly off day in the office for Dhull so far, besides that somersault by the midline!

Surinder Singh pegs one back for the Titans as he brings down Arjun Deshwal on a do or die raid. Arjun Deshwal is frantically pacing through the depth of the Titans half and Surinder sees a chance and takes it. Rewarded !

Ankit Beniwal is rounded up and brought down. Momentum going Panthers' way, especially this defence.

Arjun Deshwal comes in on a do or die raid and takes out Sandeep Kandola. Gifted this point is as Kandola makes an error and goes in eagerly. Easy slip for Deshwal.

Adarsh is sent in to raid, banking on momentum here. But he spends far too much time too deep and Vishal meanwhile preps himself behind Adarsh who has to push through too much resistance and is in turn pushed out on the right of the mat.

Sandeep Dhull takes out the raider to give Panthers a slender lead

Adarsh takes out the three Panthers players on the mat to level scores. What a comeback. Wonder what the team discussed at half time! Adarsh had to struggle with the three players tugging at his leg. Wonderful effort.

Surinder Singh takes out Deepak Niwas Hooda, impressive work from the Titans defence as they quietly go about their business

Rajnish starts the second half with intent and takes out Sahul Kumar

This has been a fairly simple game for the Panthers, whose defence is coming together nicely save a few individual errors. Arjun Deshwal has taken time to warm up and has been dealing largely in bonus points. I doubt the Panthers will worry about this too much given the lead they have. Titans' lack of leadership is evident as they seem hapless in strategy. Is this going to be another winless game or can Rajnish inspire a fightback? He has been chipping away at the points but the real disappointment has been the defence that has two tackle points.

Rajnish goes past Sahul, but meets Sandeep Dhull who is rolling around upside down to hold Rajnish down as a few more players in pink push him out of the mat. But, Dhull is completely out of the mat, so Titans get a point too.

12-19 Ankit Beniwal's luck doesn't translate in the raid as three Jaipur defenders - Sandeep, Sahul and Vishal - block and bring him down.

Arjun Deshwal spends far too much time in the deep end of the Titans half. Tries to get at least the bonus but Ankit Beniwal also has a hold on his ankle before the defence brings him down on the left. Rare to see Arjun Deshwal mess up a do or die raid.

Titans have just ONE TACKLE POINT so far. Poor.

11-17 Rajnish takes out Naveen again. Rajnish is chipping away and brings that deficit down to just six points

A failed block far too close to the midline sees Rajnish taking a point for the Titans. Very serious expressions on all the Titans' faces. Grim situation for them.

9-17 Akash is too far up ahead and tries his luck with tackling Arjun Deshwal who gets to the midline with Akash on his back

Yet another bonus point for the Titans. Holding morale is crucial for the Titans

For a minute it looked like Rakesh Gowda would have slipped through his block but Vishal and Sandeep Dhull close him out and inflict the all out. Bonus for Rakesh but the massive boost in points go to the Panthers.

Arjun Deshwal gets a massive touch on Surinder Singh after pushing Sandeep Kandola to the other corner. Far too easy for the Panthers' raider.

Rakesh Gowda gets a bonus point plus a touch on Naveen whose ankle hold is slippery. Two points and Sandeep Kandola is back on the court but more importantly, all out averted by the Titans. Phew.

Arjun is nimble, Sandeep Kandola resists but Akash goes for the ankle hold and Arjun uses him as a launchpad to get through to the midline

Galla Raju tries the dubki seemingly and does not work. He dives straight into Sahul Kumar's block. The anticipation from Sahul is impressive.

5-10 Arjun Deshwal takes out Adarsh on the do or die raid with a touch point courtesy a massive stretch to the back

Ankit Beniwal is sent to the bench courtesy a brilliant back hold from Amit. Brute force!

5-8 Sandeep gets a hold of Rajnish's ankle and the rest of the defence falls over him to finish the tackle. Nice team work here.

Arjun Deshwal gets a bonus point for the Panthers. It's his second point of the night, no touch point yet.

Rajnish is met by a dash from Amit as he comes in from a bonus attempt but the tackle is too advanced and he happily takes the defender out for a point for the Titans

Deepak Niwas Hooda with a two-point raid as an advance tackle gives him two victims!

4-4 Ankit Beniwal gets a massive touch on Naveen, charges towards him to get that touch on the shoulder. Point Titans.

3-4 Okay, so I've missed two raids due to a glitch in my stream (sigh) and Titans and quite a bit has happened. Arjun Deshwal is on the bench after running into the lobby. Rajnish has been brought down by a strong Panthers defence. Deepak Niwas Hooda is back on the mat. You can't really afford to miss a minute here in the PKL.

Well done from the Titans defence to contain Deepak Niwas Hooda. Sandeep Kandola gets a waist hold and brings down Deepak while Surinder Singh comes in with the assist to ensure he doesn't stretch to the midline. This will give them confidence. The former and current skipper of the Panthers are on the bench.

2-1 Rajnish takes out Sandeep Dhull with the easiest of toe touches

2-0 Another bonus point for the Panthers. Sedate start so far

Deepak Niwas Hooda gets Jaipur going with a bonus point
8:40PM: Alright it's time for the lineups:

Jaipur Pink Panthers: Sandeep Dhull, Deepak Niwas Hooda, Arjun Deshwal, Vishal Lather, Sahul Kumar, Naveen Bazzad , Amit Kharb,

Telugu Titans: Rajnish, Surinder Singh, Prince D, Adarsh T, Ankit Beniwal, Akash Choudhary, Sandeep Kandola

The Jaipur Pink Panthers have been in spectacular form of late. They have recorded three wins and a tie in their last four outings and have climbed to fifth on the points table. The key to their resurgence has been the defence’s excellent form. They have given up just 28.25 points on average in their last four matches. Deepak Hooda’s return to form and Sahul Kumar’s emergence as one of the best defenders in the league this season has also helped the Pink Panthers’ cause. Along with U.P. Yoddha, Jaipur owns the longest active unbeaten streak in vivo PKL. They will back themselves to extend their unbeaten streak to five with a win on Wednesday and climb to fourth on the points table.

The Telugu Titans’ misery continued as they succumbed to their eighth defeat of the season in their previous outing. Their 28-27 loss against the Bengal Warriors marked the fourth time they have lost by a point in Season 8. Outside of raiders Rajnish and Ankit Beniwal, nothing has gone right for the Titans this season. They are bottom of the points table, 19 points behind the playoff spots and yet to win a game this season. The Titans are desperate to get one in the wins column and bring some joy to their fans, who have been yearning to taste victory all season long.
